Future in Sight is offering a number of online programs for people who are blind or have low vision in the next few weeks:

On December 3, 2024 from 3 to 5 pm ET, Kaila’s Crafts: The Art of Homemade Spa Gifts will offer youth and adults the opportunity to create “thoughtful and pampering gifts.” Participants will learn to make fizzy bath soaps and exfoliating scrubs with natural ingredients. The program is free of charge. The listing includes a link to purchase an optional kit that can be used during the session. On December 4, 2024 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, FIS Tech: Health and Wellbeing App for iOS and Android, for adults, will highlight and evaluate health, fitness, nutrition, hydration, and other apps that “work best with visual adjustments and screen readers for mobile devices.” For details and a link to register, visit the listing for FIS Tech: Health and well being apps for iOS and Android.

On December 6, 2024 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, Fit and Fabulous: Move and Groove will bring a workout to adults through playing music from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. The instructor, Barb Longfellow, is certified in teaching group exercise, specializing in dance fitness and senior fitness. The Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library of The New York Public Library (NYPL) offers workshops and other online programs on a regular basis. Here’s one coming up soon:
