On February 1, 2024, from 6 to 7 pm ET, Career Conversations: Interview with Chari Chauvin will be offered for young adults and job seekers who are blind or have low vision, parents, teachers, and rehabilitation professionals. Chari Chauvin, senior operations manager in Global Apparel Sales with Nike, will “share her journey from working in the sighted world into being low vision and working.” The discussion will focus on the role of confidence, determination, and self-advocacy in career success. On February 8, 2024, from 7 to 7:30 pm ET, Career and Canine Connections Information will provide the opportunity to “explore exciting job options, discover the power of guide dogs, and make lifelong connections.” This session gives an overview of the weeklong career readiness and “hands on with guide dog experience” offered through a collaboration between Guide Dogs for the Blind and the APH ConnectCenter.
