“Situations and Solutions” Accommodations Finder: A New Free Resource

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) of the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) of the U.S. Department of Labor recently introduced a new resource: the “Situation and Solutions Finder.” Users can search through information gathered on workplace accommodations directly from JAN customers. A wide range of occupations and industry sectors are represented, including healthcare, education, manufacturing, service, wholesale/retail sales, and more. According to a survey conducted by JAN, “workplace accommodations are typically low-cost and positively impact the workplace in many ways.” The Situations and Solutions Finder allows users to search for examples based on “Disability, Limitation, and Occupation.” JAN emphasizes that the new resource provides examples and is not a comprehensive resource for information about accommodations. For responses to specific questions and individual guidance, contact JAN directly at askjan.org. To find out more about the new resources, visit JAN’s webpage on the Situations and Solutions Finder.
