From Future In Sight (FIS) via Zoom:
On September 25, 2024 at 10:30 am to 12: 30 pm ET, FIS Tech: A Byte Out of the Apple Keynote Event, for adults, will highlight what is new from Apple, what is expected to be released, and the impact on accessibility. Find out more and receive a link to register here for this Tech Event.
On September 26, 2024 from 7 to 8:30 pm ET, The Business of Being Blind: The Crisis Counselor, a program for youth and adults, will speak with people who are blind or have low vision from different fields of work. On October 2, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm ET, FIS Tech: Picture Smart with Jaws and Be My AI for the PC, for adults, will describe two options to gain access to images. For those who would like to independently share a photo from a phone’s library, know what’s in photos sent by others, choose art for a project, or perform similar functions with visuals, this workshop will provide a demonstration and walk participants through how to access these offerings. On November 9, 2024 from 2 to 3:30 pm online and on October 12, 2024 from 2 to 3:30 pm ET in person in New York City the Nonvisual Drawing Club will instruct participants in techniques for drawing straight lines and more. Also on Wednesdays, beginning on October 9, 2024 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, Exploring JAWS: An 8-Week Workshop will be offered for those who know how to type but wish to learn the basics of using the JAWS screen readers with Windows.
