This is our last issue of this publication. A labor of love, the weekly Bulletin has been published for nearly five years, since the pandemic. Although publication of the Bulletin is ending, you may still look forward to future RDPFS emails.
The Bulletin was made possible through the dedication of Editorial Director and Consultant Janet Weinstein, Board Member Elise Grossman, and since July, with support from Consultant Daniel Parker. We also appreciate that others in the blind and visually impaired (BVI) community contributed to the Bulletin.
Soja shared in November that as incoming Executive Director, her number one priority is ensuring RDPFS grantmaking is as impactful as possible. In partnership with the RDPFS Board and in keeping with that priority, we are taking a strategic look at all activities supporting our grantmaking. We are ceasing publication of the Bulletin as it does not clearly align with our objectives.
Janet and Daniel have proven to be a strong team for the Bulletin with their excellent research, skilled writing, and editing. Both are open to opportunities for work on similar communications at other organizations. They may be reached at: [email protected] and [email protected].
An excellent national resource for information and services for blind and visually impaired individuals is the VisionAWARE website, under the American Printing House for the Blind. As a founding funder and with our approximate $1 million 2005-2017 investments in VisionAWARE, RDPFS is very proud that it persists and thrives. Another excellent national resource, also funded by RDPFS, is Hadley.
We thank and appreciate Janet, Elise, and Daniel for their dedication to the Bulletin.
Sincerely,
Soja Orlowski Matthew Krieger
Executive Director Board Chair
