Presentation of Preliminary Findings on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Disability Community and AI Practitioners: December 12, 2024

As part of their “Developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Equity, Access and Inclusion for AI Series,” the U.S. Access Board will be presenting preliminary findings on “the risks and benefits of AI for people with disabilities.” The presentation will take place on December 12, 2024 from 2 to 3:30 pm ET. Findings to be discussed come from the outcomes of recent hearings held this past summer as well as independent research and public comments. The presentation stems from the federal government Executive Order on the Use of Artificial Intelligence to get input from individuals with disabilities and AI practitioners to learn more about “risks and benefits of AI, and to issue recommendations and technical assistance to promote equity, accessibility, and inclusion for all.” A subsequent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed earlier this year with the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) “to ensure that the disability community is engaged and supported through education and resources related to AI.” To access the presentation, no preregistration is required.
