On October 22, 2024 from 4 to 5 pm, the Vibrant Verbal Description Tour will highlight the exhibition, Just Frame It: How Nike Turned Sports Stars into Superheroes. The exhibition, at Poster House in New York City through February 2025, chronicles the many professional sports and athletes promoted by Nike, showcasing how the company “paved the way for modern sports advertising.” Virtual Vibrant Description Tours are held monthly for people who are blind or have low vision. On October 23, 2024 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm ET, FIS Tech: Email Efficiency—Gmail Tools, Tips, and Techniques, will bring adults pointers to advance their skills in sending, receiving, and scheduling emails, how to search, and more. On October 24, 2024 from 7 to 8:30 pm ET, The Business of Being Blind, for adults and youth, features discussions with people who are blind and visually impaired working in many different fields. This session features Anna Lisa Anderson, who works for Eco Labs as a senior lead for ordering and administration. On October 30, 2024 at 3 pm ET, Success Beyond Sight: Go Big on Recruiting will share the organization’s recruitment efforts, supported by RDPFS, to “expand the Teacher of Vision Impaired (TVI) profession. The speaker will be Kathleen Zeider, CEO of ACVREP (Academy of Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals) and Success Beyond  Sight.
