Each month, Poster House conducts “Vibrant Verbal Description Tours” for community members who are blind or have low vision. This month’s tour, taking place tomorrow, April 9, 2024 from 4 to 5 pm ET, focuses on the exhibition featuring The Anatomy of a Movie Poster: The Work of Dawn Baillie. Poster artist Baillie’s career spans nearly four decades. She has worked on “some of the most iconic and beloved posters in modern cinematic history,” such as those created for “Dirty Dancing,” “Silence of the Lambs,” and “Little Miss Sunshine.” The exhibition, on display through September 8, 2024 at the Poster House museum in New York City, chronicles Baillie’s career and showcases the “evolution of the production of movie posters of the past 35 years, from paste-ups to the introduction of computer technology.” To sign up for the virtual event, email [email protected] or call 914-295-2387. Registrants will receive poster images for reference and information about accessing Zoom the morning of the tour.
