Virtual Workshops for People Who are Blind or Have Low Vision: Using Computers, YouTube, Cooking, and More

Future In Sight, an RDPFS grantee, offers virtual workshops on a variety of topics. A Zoom link is sent for each event with registration confirmation. A few of those coming up are:

On April 10, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, Magnification for the PC: Adjustments for a bigger, bolder, better computer experience offers adults the opportunity to learn about making adjustments and enhancements for individuals with low vison using a Windows PC. Participants will find out about adjusting text size, making things bold, and more. On April 19, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12 pm, Outta Sight Cooking: Cheesy stuffed peppers, will bring adult participants into the remote kitchen of Jan Schlecht, who will describe a “delicious cheesy stuffed pepper recipe.” People who sign up will receive a list of ingredients ahead of time to cook along on Zoom or listen and learn tips and suggestions on how to make the meal. On April 24, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, Navigating YouTube, for adults, will offer an overview of the feature’s layout, how to create playlists, finding your history, and subscribing to playlists.
