Are you, or is someone you know, interested in “developing an entrepreneurial mindset?” The IdeaSpark Program engages people with disabilities in discovering what is involved in being an innovator and entrepreneur. Over a six-week period, program participants join in a series of activities allowing them to define an entrepreneurial opportunity and determine its feasibility. This program is a collaboration between The Viscardi Center (TVC) and Iona University’s Hynes Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Those enrolled will have the chance to interact with entrepreneurs and experts in their areas of interest and partner with Peer Mentors who are students at the university. A culminating “Pitchfest” event will allow participants to practice presentation skills and share personal learning experiences as they propose their business ideas and compete for “equity-free cash grants.” IdeaSpark sessions will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am to 1 pm ET from May 14 through June 27, 2024. The application deadline for the 2024 IdeaSpark Program is April 25, 2024 at 5 pm ET. For more information, visit the TVC webpage on the IdeaSpark Program and read the program flyer. To apply, complete and submit this online application.
