Each month, Poster House offers virtual “Vibrant Verbal Description Tours” of its current shows and permanent collection. On January 25, 2024, from 4 to 5 pm ET, the online tour will feature the new exhibition, “Advertising India’s Sandalwood Film Industry.” The exhibit, which is at Poster House in New York until April 14, 2024, showcases Bangalore’s Kannada-language movie industry, known as “Sandalwood.” In that region, “low budget cinema thrives.” Its popularity is evidenced through the widespread presence of posters promoting the genre at building sites, highway overpasses, bus stops, and other open surfaces.
