Welcoming the holiday season, a number of virtual verbal description tours and other events are occurring in the coming weeks. Here is information about programs from the Brooklyn Museum, the Jewish Museum, Poster House, and VocalEye:

Winter Celebration: A Virtual Verbal Description Tour on December 5, 2023:

The Brooklyn Museum invites individuals who are blind or have low vision to experience their collections and exhibitions online on December 5, 2023 from 6 to 7:30 pm ET via Zoom. “Mood of the Moment: Gaby Aghion and the House of Chloé” on December 6, 2023:

The Jewish Museum invites visitors who are visually impaired to participate in their virtual “Verbal Description Tour at Home” spotlighting the history of the Chloé fashion label and its founder Gaby Agion. The tour takes place on December 6, 2023 from 2 to 3:30 pm ET and features garments and “never-before-exhibited sketches and documents.” Designers who began their careers with Chloé, such as Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney, are featured as well. “Vibrant Verbal Description Tour: We Tried to Warn You!” on December 12, 2023:

Poster House regularly offers virtual “Vibrant Verbal Description Tours” for community members who are blind or have low vision. Their program on December 12, 2023 from 4 to 5 pm ET will focus on the current exhibition, “We Tried to Warn You! Environmental Crisis Posters, 1970-2020.” The exhibition charts a global history of environmental activism through posters in a variety of styles. “Another Holiday Surprise!” on December 13, 2023:

VocalEye extends an invitation to its “festive end-of-year celebration” on December 13, 2023 at 6:30 pm Pacific Time (9:30 pm Eastern Time). The virtual event features games, music, and more “Secret Santa surprises.” VocalEye is a Canadian dedicated live description service for people who are blind.
