NBCUniversal has announced that the upcoming Olympic Games, taking place in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024, “will be accessible to more viewers of all abilities than ever before, providing…enhanced closed captioning, expanded audio description, and improved digital content accessibility.” For viewers who are blind or visually impaired, the audio description services will intersperse more audio with “skilled voices, describing Olympic scenes and context.” In addition, improved accessibility for web content, including keyboard navigation, color contrast, and support for screen readers, will be provided online, through NBCOlympics.com, the NBC Sports app, and Peacock.
