November is National Native American Heritage Month

Each year, in November, National Native American Heritage Month is celebrated. This occasion offers the opportunity to recognize the “traditions, languages, and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and affiliated communities and ensure their rich histories and contributions continue to thrive with each passing generation.” This year’s theme, “Celebrating Tribal Sovereignty and Identity,” underscores the assurance that any decisions made regarding the property and citizens of Tribes are made with “their participation and consent.” Events and recognitions throughout the month emphasize this theme.
