June 27, Helen Keller’s birthday, kicked off DeafBlind Awareness Week. The theme for 2021 is “DeafBlind Emplyees Can Help Businesses Grow with Unique Insights and Perspectives. TrailBlazer, Big Thinker, GoGetter, DeafBlind…”Talented employees who are DeafBlind are doing more than their part” to contribute to the growth of companies. Helen Keller National Center for DeafBlind Youths and Adults (HKNC) reports that this national advocacy campaign has occurred annually since 1984, when President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation recognizing its importance.
