As reported in a previous issue of this Bulletin, the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) “empowers Americans who are blind and visually impaired to experience life-changing opportunities in sports, recreation, and physical education activities…” To advance this goal and recognize National Blind Sports Month, USABA will be hosting the 14th Annual Breakfast of Champions, being held virtually and in person in Colorado Springs, CO on October 27, 2023. The in-person breakfast begins at 7:30 MT (9:30 ET), with the one-hour live stream program starting at 8 am MT (10 am ET). Program highlights include a dialogue between “two-time Paralympic medalist in goalball Marybal Huking and Paralympic hopeful in blind soccer Ricky Castanada.” Virtual attendance is available at no charge, although donations are suggested. Tickets to the live event are available for $50. For additional program information, visit the USABA webpage for the 2023 Breakfast with Champions. The event can also be viewed virtually on USABA’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
