A limited series of five “foundational audio description for dance workshops” will begin on January 20, 2024 and will continue each Saturday through February 17, 2024 from 4 to 6 pm ET. Presented by Dark Room Ballet, a program of Movement Research, the workshops cover the following topics:
– “Four Strategies to De-Center Sight in Audio Description for Dance;”
– “The Layered Body: Self-Audio Description that De-Centers Sight;”
– “How it Feels: Integrating Physical Sensation and Emotion in Self-Audio Description;”
– “Experimentation in Vocal Tonality for Audio Description for Dance;” and
– “Yeah, But Was It Good? Learning How to Listen to Audio Description for Dance Critically.”
