Members of the public are invited to tune into a virtual public workshop on September 29, 2023 from 10 am to 4 pm ET to consider patient-reported outcomes and vision-related quality of life. The session will “highlight the importance of patients’ perspectives, patient-reported outcomes (PROs), and questionnaires to measure visual function and vision-related quality of life (VFQs) in vision research and clinical care.” Hosted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) with the National Institutes of Health (NIH)’s National Eye Institute (NEI), this workshop seeks to uncover future steps in developing PROs and VFQs for a range of eye conditions as well as various degrees of vision loss. In addition to the general public, researchers from academia, industry, not-for-profit organizations, other government agencies, patients, and care partners are expected to attend. For additional details about the workshop, including the agenda, visit the NEI page describing the Workshop on Patient-Reported Outcomes and Vision Related Quality of Life Questionnaires.
